Company History


Carmel Realty Company was the first Real Estate company in Carmel, California. The company was founded in 1913 by Rose C. De Yoe. In the early 1930's Hallie Booth, the aunt of Jean Booth Mitchell and great Aunt of William B. Mitchell, Hallie Mitchell Dow, and Shelly Mitchell Lynch, became one of the first female real estate agents in Carmel. For four generations since then, The Mitchell's have led the Real Estate market in the City of Carmel. In 2002, The Mitchell family made Carmel Realty part of The Mitchell Group, the largest privately held real estate office on the peninsula with 5 offices and over 130 agents. As the Mitchell Group brokerage arm was sold to Sotheby's in 2005, Shelly Mitchell Lynch purchased Carmel Realty in order to continue its rich tradition as a quality, locally, family run Property Management Company.

In the last two years the company has brought in new leadership, updated process, new computer and phone systems, launched a new website, a new advertising campaign and more. The business has never been healthier. Our staff has increased to more than accomodate our recent growth. The company has committed to remaining the clear leader when it comes to luxury property management. There is not another company on the peninsula who can compare inventory of high-end homes. The company is dedicated to matching these premier homes with world-class customer service. We have put in place an amazing infrastructure which enables us to be excellent in supporting tenants and owners.
